Discovery Education
Discovery Education:
Discovery Education is a learning forum that can be accessed as an application or a web-based platform. The main purpose of Discovery Education is to provide a resource for students to access supplemental materials tied to classroom content. Students can access articles, photographs, illustrations, videos, audio clips, and teacher created resources on Discovery Education.
Discovery Education promotes teachers to Discover, Teach, and Grow.
Under the Discover section, teachers can review trending materials, search for materials by subject, or search for materials by standard.
Within the Teach section teachers can store and review stored content. Within this section teachers can access the Studio portion of Discovery Education. Within the Studio teachers can create boards pertaining to specific content, publish materials, and review materials they have assigned to students. Within this section is the most useful resource in my opinion. Educators can create personalized boards for students to review and complete assignments, sort of like a learning playlist.
Lastly, within the Teach section, teachers can access the Classroom tap. Within the Classroom, teachers can review student activity and assignment submissions, and review student created content boards.
The last section on the Discovery Education home page is the Grow section. Within this section, teachers can search for instructional strategies. This helps educators identify possible strategies to use when implementing Discovery Education resources. The Grow section is also where you can access professional learning experiences, and network with fellow educators.
Discovery Education is also a vital resource for students. Students can research specific topics, and find additional materials that discuss the content they are learning in class. Another great way that students can utilize Discovery Education is to create their own Study Boards. Just like teachers, students can create their own content boards. Creating boards can be a great way for students to collect and store information for further study, or even create materials and upload as a digital portfolio.
In summary, Discovery Education is a beneficial resource for students as well as educators. Discovery education provides a wide variety of multimedia materials. Most importantly, Discovery Education allows for users to discover, as well as create.
