Report 4 – Part 4 Blended Learning Project
Utilize Resources
Instructor: Samantha Justice, M. Ed, Instructional Technology
Grade: 3rd Grade
Subject: Mathematics Intervention
Preview Resources
In order to preview the resources that would be utilized by students, I reviewed the EDM tutorial videos prior to student usage. I did so to ensure the tutorials were accurate and easy for students to understand. I then played a round of each of the games that students would be utilizing to ensure they are easy to utilize and beneficial to students.
Prepare Resources
EDM Tutorial Videos were assigned through McGraw Hill: EDM for home/ homeroom viewing as models, to familiarize students with vocabulary and procedures pertaining to multiplication. I created a QR Code that could be scanned by a device’s camera to easily access the tutorial videos. QR Codes were then loaded into our Google Classroom to allow for easy access at home.

EDM Games were assigned through McGraw Hill: EDM to be completed during our class meeting time. By playing the digital games, students will utilize the vocabulary and procedures pertaining to multiplication that were learned from the tutorial videos. I created a QR Code that could be scanned by a device’s camera to easily access the tutorial videos. QR Codes were then loaded into our Google Classroom to allow for easy access at school as well as home (for extra practice).

Prepare the Environment
This lesson took place in my classroom, as well as online. Students were assigned the tutorial videos as out of class assignments. Students were able to select the order in which they viewed the videos. Students were also able to work through the videos at their own pace and take notes as needed. Students were given charged iPads to utilize while in the classroom. My four students and I sat at one table (in close proximity). This allows for teacher assistance as needed. Students were also provided scratch paper and pencils to work out equations as needed.
Prepare the Learners
Learners were well prepared in advance for the lesson. Objectives of the lesson were clearly stated. Unfamiliar vocabulary was introduced and practiced whole class. Students have seen these multiplication strategies utilized in their general education mathematics classroom. To further prepare the learners, I played one round of each game with the students (whole group) to model game expectations. Expectations include, students must show their work using a multiplication strategy for each question. Students must also stay on task the entire duration of the game. Lastly, students must not guess to determine answers.
