After much consideration, I am going to have to switch my course supervisor. My original supervisor is partially in charge of HCS's Virtual School. I believe this task has become much more damanding than originally intended. I have spoken with my school's curriculum coach and she is willing to be my supervisor for the rest of this course.
The change of supervisor will also lead to a change in professional development plans. I will no longer be planning on presenting STEM/PLTW to HCS's administration teams. Instead, I will be planning to conduct a series of STEM/PLTW professional development sessions to the grade level teachers at St. James Elementary School. A new (detailed) Instructional Design Proposal will be outlined in the next blog post, Blog 4.
So far I am thinking of providing 6, hour long professional development sessions. Each session will be specific to the intended grade level. Each session will review what STEM and PLTW is, how grade specific standards are addressed, how to navigate PLTW, and how to impliment SEM/PLTW in the general educaion classroom.
