Student Practice Activities
Students listened to multiple Every Day Mathematics (EDM) tutorials assigned as homework to learn strategies to complete multiplication problems. The strategies taught in the tutorials were briefly reviewed at the beginning of instruction to ensure understanding and correct misconceptions. Instructor modeling was used to introduce the EDM games to be utilized for multiplication strategy practice. Students were then released to independently practice utilizing multiplication strategies using the EDM games. Onsite feedback on the correctness of responses was provided by the game itself, and the instructor. While students were working the instructor walked monitored students and assisted as needed.
